Synopsis

When John Carter’s beloved Dejah Thoris is gravely injured in a flier accident, the Warlord of Mars sets off with the young Heliumetic officer Vor Daj to find Ras Thavas, whose unequaled surgical skill is the only hope of saving her life. Soon they learn that Thavas has become a captive of his own creation: the hormads, misshapen synthetic humanoids residing on shadowy island of Morbus. Captured by the creatures, Vor Daj risks everything to come to the aid of a fellow prisoner, the beautiful maiden Janai, willingly transplanting his brain into body of a hideous hormad so that he might infiltrate the monsters’ compound and free her. But that is only the first challenge, for the horror that grows within the vats of Morbus threatens all Barsoom!
